Only 5% of people succeed at sustained weight loss and 95% of people rely on a conventional diet and exercise plan… Do you see the disconnect too??!!
So what is missing?
When was the last time you worked with a health and fitness coach who actually understands where you have been, where you are, and where you want to go?
When was the last time you saw a real advertisement with someone working out in a gym that doesn’t have chiseled abs and a perfectly photoshopped body?
When was the last time you met with a nutrition coach who has dealt with the emotional eating issues?
When was the last time you talked to a fitness and health coach who understands the psychology behind permanent weight loss and positive life transformation?
I asked these questions for a very specific reason.
I was 400 pounds and scared any day could end with a heart attack. I was stuck in the same routine of losing 10 pounds and gaining 20. I tried products and pills, diet and exercise… yet every time I ended with heartbreak, disappointment and failure.
I was living an unhealthy life from the stress at work, the stress on my body, and the emptiness in my soul.
No fad diet.
No crazy exercise routine.
The most common question people ask: “So how did you lose 200 pounds??!!”
A walk around the block and portion controlling my food… But more importantly, learning the psychology behind how to set a goal and take the action every day no matter how small and insignificant the steps may seem.
More importantly, what have you learned from losing 200 pounds??
5 lessons I’ve learned from losing 200 pounds and working with people as they work toward their fitness and health goals:
1. There is no such thing as the “easy” or “quick” way to sustainable long-term weight loss
2. The psychology of weight loss is much more difficult than changing a diet and exercise routine
3. The challenges you are going to face are predictable and together we can plan ahead
4. Physical weight loss feels fantastic, but the mental relief of the weight is much more significant
5. You don’t have to change your entire life on day one to achieve your goals
5.5 95% of the fitness industry is designed to keep you in the cycle of diet products and exercise routines because they miss don’t focus on long term sustainability
